Zod Farzahn (most commonly known as “Zod”) was born in Tehran on September 6, 1960. Painting since childhood, Zod knew that he wanted to be a professional artist. Though he is an entirely self-taught painter, Zod earned a degree in computer animation from AIA in 1998.

Both a renowned painter and 3D animator, Zod is also gifted at flamenco and classical guitar, two passions that he learned from his father, the conductor for the national orchestra in Iran. Though Zod is known primarily for his portraiture, he explores many themes in his works. Zod is a master of capturing light and shadow, a quality that has made his work coveted by collectors around the world.
