Born in Kissimmee, Florida, Tim Rogerson led what he called an everyday childhood, but even as he played outside was "hung out" with friends, he was always aware of an urge to create. Eventually he attended the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, where he majored in Illustration and from where he graduated in 2004. Rogerson cites his studies there as those of a "very traditional art student"; he studied all types of work from the old masters to modern art. Among the artists he has studied, he finds himself particularly influenced by the works of Edgar Degas and John Singer Sargent.

Modeling the perfect, confident brushstrokes of Sargent, Rogerson paints with oil on canvas, and is particularly adept at capturing people in social settings. His unique results are a product of his technique, in which he breaks down the composition into simple shapes. "It's a jigsaw puzzle of color to form an image," he explains. Rogerson has earned international renown for his work and has created numerous pieces for the critically acclaimed Disney Fine Art collection. Rogerson continues to explore his artistic talents; he says, "I try to stay away from the basic routine and technique because my joy for painting comes from the challenge of creating something entirely new."
