Frank Hamilton

Born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1930 Frank M. Hamilton traveled a great deal looking for fresh and unique concepts for his paintings. His subjects focused mainly on rural areas in the United States, he also painted images of Hawaii, Asia, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bahamas and Native American life. Hamilton's knack for architecture is a commonly seen in his watercolors, resulting from his his educational background. Cautioned that the life of an artist was often precarious, Frank was persuaded to study building design. Hamilton formed an extremely detailed style but with a quality that transported his work from the school of photographic realism. He was influenced by several renowned artists, Winslow Homer and Andrew Wyeth in particular. His paintings, in both oil and watercolor, show his love for the essence and sould of America. His subjects always carefully selected, tell a story, invoke memories, and are all drafted with his passion.
