Dan Jiang

Born in Mongolia to what would become an artistically accomplished family, Dan Jiang has been melding the abstract styling of some Western painting traditions with Chinese elements from a very young age. Tutored by his older brother and sister, Dan’s experience as a welder has also proved to be very influential in his work, giving his pieces energetic, abstract, and often times, sculptural elements. In 1989, at the encouragement of his newly immigrated brother Hong, Jiang too relocated to the U.S. to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional artist. Since then, Dan has once again begun to create works from metal, something he had long ago abandoned, and his pieces can now be found in private and corporate collections worldwide.
