Zu Ming Ho

"Richard" Zu Ming Ho was born in China in 1949. At an early age he had a true appreciation for art and was considered to be highly gifted in several different media and styles, including classic Chinese painting styles. He was also greatly influenced by the French Impressionists masters.

The Communist regime made an attempt to suppress Zu Ming by placing him into a labor camp where he had no access to the pastime he loved. Surprisingly, he maintained high spirits by creating images in his head, trying to memorize the images so that they could one day materialize on canvas. He remained in the camp for ten long years.

In 1987, Zu Ming Ho traveled to the United States, celebrating his freedom to exercise his amazing talent. He creates very cultured and meaningful pieces that continue to gain him great recognition around the world. His combination of soft brush strokes and vibrant colors are often the reason his technique is referred to as poetic.
