As a young teenager Vickie began watercolor and oil painting under the direction of known artists Carl and Dorothy Pulcifer of Tyler, Texas. She participated in workshops with noted watercolorist Tom Lynch, Claude Croney, Sue Alston, Angie Brown and others in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. She has also studied oil painting with Bruce Peil and Penny Nichols-Sanders, and currently paints with a group of plein aire artists in the East Texas area. Vickie now paints professionally and is a past member of the East Texas Fine Arts Association, Southwest Watercolor Society and a current member of Tyler’s Palette of Roses Art League and has won numerous awards for her work.
