Tessa Beaver was born in London in 1932. She received a degree in Art from the Slade School and she spent another year working in etching under John Buckland-Wright. She worked briefly as an illustrator and designer of book jackets before taking the post as art editor of children’s books, first at the Oxford University Press and later at Thomas Nelson’s. Her artwork has been shown at the Society of Wood Engravers and the Royal Society of Painter Etchers among others. The texture to her etchings are extremely unique and have gained her an international reputation as the foremost artist in etchings and engravings.
