Terry Haass, was born in 1923 in Ceský Tešín. Haass immigrated to the USA in 1938, and settled in New York where she studied graphic techniques. Haass left for Paris after the end of the war; where she worked at the well known graphic workshop La Couri`ere and met Pablo Picasso. She also took part in archaeological expeditions to Afghanistan and Israel. Haass is well versed with Plexiglas, using in an innovative techniques to design the material. Her first individual presentation in the Czech Republic consisted of a set of prints, drawings and smaller sculptural works. Terry Haass channels into her stream of consciousness, showing great sensitivity in her use of both light and material.
