Sylvia Colasacco

For as long as she can remember, Sylvia Colasacco has been creating art of some kind and her talent has always been recognized. Her first memory of this was when she was four or five years old and she was entered in a Mother’s Day drawing contest at a local bookstore. Colasacco submitted a portrait of her mother and won first place. As she grew older, she continued to indulge her passion in the arts and by the time she got to college, Colasacco decided to make it her life. She earned a bachelor’s degree in studio arts from Arizona State University and began exhibiting her art in galleries, group, and solo shows. Her work can be found in countless private and corporate collections.

While Colasacco sells and displays her artwork, the creation of it is a very personal experience. She explains, “I look to art as an escape. Whether I’m creating my own or admiring other artists’ works, I want it to take me some place else.” Focusing on themes of spirituality, dreams, and hopes, Colasacco’s pastel drawings and acrylic paintings do just that for all of the people who view them.
