Born in Tampere, Finland, Sirpa Baylis-Heikka grew up in Sweden, where the beautiful scenery and sense of history inspired her to begin painting at a young age. While her early work frequently depicted the natural beauty of the European countryside, Baylis-Heikka’s contemporary paintings are inspired by modernity and technology. Known best for what she calls her “Automotive Portraits,” she paints classic cars in intricate detail, exhibiting her love for the machines through her paintbrush. She credits her father with instilling this passion in her, as he has always loved collecting and restoring vintage cars.

Sirpa Baylis-Heikka currently lives in Venice, California where she paints full-time. She has been invited to exhibit her original artwork in numerous galleries and art fairs, including the Hermosa Beach Art Walk and the trendy Abbott Kinney Boulevard gallery.
