Sarah Van Beckum was born in 1954 in Hartford, Wisconsin. As a child she showed interest in design and textiles. With only the limitations of her creativity, Van Beckum would imagine patterns and designs and bring them to life on paper. With the guidance of a renowned textile designer, Van Beckum was able to hone skills in silkscreen printing which became an influential part of all her creative endeavors. Van Beckum was educated at the University of Wisconsin (Madison), as well as the Sorbonne in Paris, and La Ibero Americano in Mexico. Her artwork reflects this multicultural background gives a unique spark.

Sarah Van Beckum’s work has been exhibited in galleries across the Unites States and Europe. Van Beckum’s work is also displayed in many private and corporate collections nationally and internationally, including Merrill Lynch and Kohler Co.
