Whereas most four year olds eventually outgrow a penchant for playing with clay, Chris Pardell never did. By the time he was a teenager, Pardell realized with certainty that sculpting was going to be his life’s work. Foregoing a “formal” education, Pardell instead devoted himself to an ardent apprenticeship with Italian master sculptors, with his main influences being the Great Masters Rodin, Remington and Russell, to name a few. Pardell is unique in that he never sketches his designs on paper prior to beginning work – he creates purely in 3 dimensions from the start. This, as his many collectors and fans will attest, is just one of the reasons Pardell’s work is so exquisitely detailed and so breathtakingly lifelike. His creations are found in public and private collections around the world.
