Isaac Akim was born in 1950 in Moldova, and began his formal art studies at the Art Academy of Kishinev, one of the most prestigious art schools in the USSR. There he learned traditional and classical painting and sculpting among some of the brightest and most influential artists of the USSR.

In 1994, Isaac traveled to Italy on an invitation to study at the Florence Academy of Fine Art. He was living his lifelong dream of painting and sculpting in the birthplace of the Renaissance. From there, he continued his studies in Venice and Rome before finally immigrating to Israel.

Akim's works have been shown in the annual New York and Los Angeles Art Expos since 1990. As well, his works have been shown in major galleries across the United States, Europe, and Israel.
