Philippe Noyer

Philippe Noyer was born June 28, 1917 in Lyon (central France). After taking a course at the prestigious Ecole des Roches, Noyer went to the Beaux Arts (Fine Arts) School of Lyon, and then decided to go to Paris to attend the Paul Colin School of Art. Noyer began his painting career in 1943. During his relationship with the DROUANT-DAVID Gallery, Philippe Noyer made a friend and contact in the United States, Mr. Robert Goldstein the former President of the 20th Century Fox Movie Company. Robert Goldstein purchased 20 Noyer pieces and was so pleased with his purchase that he gave pieces to his friends, including the legendary Samuel Goldwyn. In the years to follow, Philippe was asked to paint the portraits of many well known stars including Elizabeth Taylor and Dinah Shore. "My paintings are what they appear to be, nothing more, nothing less." "Some are serious, some are not. But I have always painted what I have felt."
