A master of his craft, Peter Lik was born to humble beginnings in Melbourne, Australia, to Czech immigrants. A Kodak Brownie camera for his eighth birthday was what started his incredible journey into the world of photography. Throughout his youth, Lik continued to explore his fascinations with the world and nature through photography, a hobby that would eventually become a passionate career path.

An entirely self taught artist, Lik worked very hard at his craft before making the decision to venture to the United States in 1984. While in the U.S., Lik was introduced to the medium format panoramic camera. This was a defining moment in his career as he decided to explore and take on this new challenge. With a “go big or go home” attitude, Lik rose to meet that challenge by returning home to photograph the vastness of the Great South Land of Australia. He also went on to open his very own fine art publishing company as well as his first gallery in his hometown of Cairns.

By 1989 Lik had returned to the United States for a short expedition before taking on a massive project in the early 2000's to photograph landscapes of all 50 states. After a thousand rolls of film, Peter Lik had finished his journey; and the highlights were put into “Spirit of America,” a book documenting his American Odyssey.

Lik has been honored and indisputably marked as a master photographer with his receipt of the award of Master Photographer from both the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). He has also been awarded fellowships by the British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) and The Royal Photographic Society (RPS).

Lik has sold hundreds of millions of dollars of his artwork over the years; many celebrities and even presidents account for Lik’s vast following of collectors and fans. He currently has 13 of his own galleries and has become a household name with exposure from his NBC produced TV series, “From the Edge with Peter Lik.”

Lik’s masterworks include "Ancient Spirit," "Sacred Sunrise," "Angel’s Heart," "Tree of Life" and the highly acclaimed "Ghost." And each new work is greeted with anticipation and enthusiasm by collectors worldwide.
