Linda Falge

Linda Falge was interested in art from a very young age. Encouraged by her parents, she always had plenty of crayons, pencils, paints, and paper, and explored books about art and artists on her own. When she was in high school, she took every available art class and experimented with different media, including painting, drawing, ceramics, and jewelry-making. Her endeavors during these years earned her a number of school and county fair awards. In her senior year of high school, Falge worked at an advertising agency as assistant to the art director; by studying his work, techniques, and talents, she furthered her own artistic skills.

Falge moved to Oregon after high school to attend college, but was forced to take a few years off due to financial and other complications. She eventually graduated with an AA degree in humanities in 2001, after taking numerous art courses along with her humanities coursework. Since graduating, she has made her art her full-time job or, as she calls it, her “full-time life.”

Falge’s creation comes from within. She draws upon her own experiences and outside influences to inspire her paintings. As she describes it, “The colorful people I meet, the sights and sounds of nature, the emotions that swirl around me – all of these things are sifted through my being, to be reborn later on the canvases I create.”
