John Seerey-Lester

Wildlife artist John Seerey-Lester was born in Manchester, England, and currently resides in Florida with his wife, also a wildlife artist. Seerey-Lester worked in advertising and publishing before he devoted himself to art. After a trip to East Africa in 1980, he began to focus on wildlife and nature art, hoping to raise awareness of endangered creatures and habitats. A couple years later, he moved to the United States and began to publish and release limited edition prints with Mill Pond Press.

Seerey-Lester’s artwork appears in the collections of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, the National Museum of Wildlife Art, and the Bennington Center for the Arts. Traveling widely in pursuit of inspiration, Seerey-Lester only paints wildlife that he has seen firsthand, and has been to most parts of Canada, Alaska, China, Africa, Antartica, the Americas, India, and Nepal.
