Born in 1983 in Henan Province in the People’s Republic of China, Dong Ting has been painting passionately since he was only twelve years old. When his teachers noticed his natural artistic talents, Ting’s parents sent him to a school especially for children gifted in the arts in Hangzhou. After his early schooling, he continued his formal artistic training at the City Art College in the same city. Since then Ting has used his distinct style to produce primarily figurative art of Chinese women. In addition to his career as a painting and his membership in both the Chinese Artists’ Society and on the committee of the Hangzhou Artists’ Association, Dong Ting restores old Chinese silk paintings.
