David Schwartz

David Schwartz was given one on one instruction at the Gino Conti Studio in Providence, R.I., Rhode Island School of Design in Providence in addition to the Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy. He has a bachelor’s degree in studio art and printmaking from the University of Massachusetts as has also studied at the University of Hawaii. December 2007 marks David’s international debut in Florence, Italy at the Bienalle Internazionale dell Arte Contemporanea where he has been chosen to represent the United States along with 800 other up and coming contemporary artists from all over the world. Considered to be the Olympics of the art world, David will be in the company of recognized artists such as David Hockney, Christo and Jeanne-Claude. David Schwartz connects him to the almost fathomless strength of the universe. “The Shaman of my soul sings when I paint,” he says. “Sometimes, I feel I touch The Great Chord to which we are all attached.” It was is his grandmother, Goldie who first inspired him to pusue art. An immigrant from Austria, she reestablished herself in America where she raised her family. David vividly recalls the tall sailboats that his grandmother would draw and paint for him. Staying true to his New England roots, David has settled near the ocean in Silverstrand Beach, California.
