Dan Emerson was born in Kansas in 1952. His affinity to art drew him to fine arts printmaking. He soon, however, became disenchanted with the boundaries of conventional printmaking techniques and began to explore other processes for his own work as well as the work of others. He has since gained recognition as a printmaker and painter for his own contemporary abstract work, as well as the images of the many artists he has worked with.
