Bertha Horta was born and settled in the City of Mexico, made her first studies of plastic arts for a short time at the San Carlos Academy, enamels on metal at the School of Design and Crafts in the Ciudadela, and screen printing and lithography at the school of Fine Arts in San Miguel de Allende, Gto.

Her training is restless and varied, deliberately moving away from formalities, fashions and guidelines, which provides her with a free will to venture into experimentation and mix of techniques and materials as attractive as woodworking, embossing, reliefs, pyrography, textiles and aluminum.

She is currently an active member of the AC Art Garden and is fully dedicated to painting mastering techniques such as pastel, watercolor, gouache, inks, oil and acrylics.

Bertha presented more than 40 exhibitions both collective and individual in Mexico and abroad. From 2002 her favorite theme is about couples and their relationships; their playfulness, and the richness of their possibilities.
