Born in Lima, Peru in 1955, Alberto Huapaya forms part of a well established body of Peruvian painters that include Andres Molina, Enrique Galdos Rivas, and Carlos Aitor Castillo. He shares with them the avenue of artistic creativity, as well as deep, enduring friendships. Huapaya’s most important achievement to date was his involvement in the renovation of the Central Park of Miraflores, one of the nicest and most culturally enriched areas in Lima. He is also incredibly active on the Board of Directors for the ASPAP, the most important painter’s associations in Peru. Alberto Huapaya has held more than 65 exhibitions in different areas of the country, including four one-man shows at Galleria 715. Galeria Cosmos, Galeria Translex, and Galeria San Jose.
