Artist Albert Swayhoover was born in New York City, and studied art at both the New York College at Farmingdale and the School of Visual Art. After completing his studies, Swayhoover enjoyed a duel career of painting and advertising. Swayhoover’s artwork had won over 20 awards, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Award, and has been displayed in many one-man shows across the country. Swayhoover’s work is also in the corporate collections of IBM, Chase, and CBS.

Using only a series of palette knives to create his works, Swayhoover says, “"I can achieve painterly surfaces without fussiness of brush strokes. Colors stay vibrant and shapes stay crisp. Fine lines are easily achieved by using quick strokes with the edge of a painting knife. These tools give sharpness, exuberance and freedom to my work."
