Joanny was born Jean Tierant in Paris, 1931, to a calligrapher father and a mother who was an architectural designer. Consequently, Joanny was instilled with a deep passion and inborn talent for drawing and painting. Cézanne, Matisse, Monet and Van Gogh...these are the great Impressionist masters whose mantle Joanny has taken up, living in the Provence region of southern France, capturing the extraordinary light and vivid colors of the unspoiled scenery. Joanny is inspired by the same vibrant landscape, from its deep purple lavender fields, olive groves and delicate almond blossoms to its charming countryside, farms and homes. Joanny has toured extensively throughout Europe, with exhibits throughout France, and collectors worldwide.
