Rudolf Svoboda

Rudolf Svoboda (1924-1994) was born in North-Western Slovakia and studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague. He was a student and later a collaborator of professor Karel Pokorny, one of the protagonists of modern sculpture in the period between the War I and War II. His sculptures range from realistic to abstract and frequently feature themes of mothers and children, dancers, flowers, wings, Icarus, Clown, Jugglers, and symbols against war and genocide.
