Ruth Zarfati was born 1928 in Israel. Guided by her father, an electric company worker whos real passion was art, sculpture and toy design, Ruth developed her talent. In tandem with her high school studies, she learned art under Aharon Avin, who went on to found the Avni Institute. After high school she studied sculpting with Moshe Sternshus (1903-1992) whom she married in 1949. In time she embraced her own artistic style, joining the Ofakim Hadashim art movement in Israel. Ruth Zafarti exhibited in nearly 100 exhibits, including over 20 solo exhibits before her death in 2010.
