Born in 1959, in Kazakhstan, Natalia Sinkovsky finished her Master’s in Architecture in her homeland, where she also took drawing and painting courses. Sinkovsky immigrated to Israel with her family in 1995 and initially worked as an interior designer and architect, before expanding into painting professionally in 2002. Primarily painting in acrylic, Sinkovsky initiates her artistic process with an idea, rather than a predefined sketch, and applies layers of paint in thick application using a palette knife, before adding small graphic elements. She appreciates all art styles and movements, but is primarily inspired by abstract art and modern design, due in part to her background in architecture. Her sailboats series are influenced by her appreciation for the Expressionist, Baroque, and Cubist movements. In her artwork, Sinkovsky employs bright, cheerful colors to complement her optimistic outlook on life.
