Ofer Samra

Born in Israel in 1963, Ofer Samra moved to the United States in the mid-80's to pursue acting after having a successful bodybuilding career in his homeland (he twice earned the title, "Mr. Israel"). After arriving in Los Angeles, he landed roles in notable films such as, "Batman Forever" and "Trule Lies" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

As Samra delved deeper and deeper into the artistic process, he started to explore other mediums, and began studying the works of Caravaggio, Egon Schiele, Margritte and Picasso. He found himself in constant dialogue about painting and the "art seed" was planted.

Ultimately, figurative work became Samra's main channel in which to express himself. Life, passion, emotion, strength, character, mind, body, and spirit all realized in his paintings. He says, "I believe Art is about being open and allowing ideas, colors, nature, and people to come in." Mixed with Samra's passions, a unique and personal art was created.

Samra's "Dogs" collection is showing at "Axiom" Art Gallery in Santa Monica, California. Ofer’s works are also displayed at Q Art Gallery in Marina Del Rey, California.
