1952 was the year Lena Tants was born into an artistic family in Kiev, Ukraine. Having grown up around art, Tants eventually completed her studies in arts and graphics, graduating from the Art Institue of Kiev in 1980, and participated in a number of well-received one-man shows across the Ukraine.

By 1992, Tants relocated to Israel with her family, where she has a thriving studio in Tel Aviv. Using "bright, happy colors", Tants creates vibrant artwork featuring her favorite subjects of flowers and animals.
