John Haggan was born in Northern Ireland in 1946. He worked as an industrial engineer until 1979 when he turned a art, hitherto a hobby, into a profession. Haggan began painting in a traditional style with subjects ranging from landscapes to portraits. In more recent years, his work has varied considerably to a more contemporary style, which includes musicians, sporting and equestrian subjects. His work is displayed in many private collections, both in the U.K. and abroad, including the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Recently the House of Lords acquired one of John's paintings to add to their prestigious collection.
