Born into a seminal Indian tribe, James was always fascinated by the games of chance and skill. His talent was portraying the games he saw played as a child at the reserve and deftly illustrating those memories onto canvas. As an adult, James attended Florida State University in Tallahassee. As a bachelor student, James attended many billiards and poker tournaments to sell his tribute works to the fans seeking souvenirs. When the connection to his heritage realized, his works began to cover the walls of the school, then the tribe casinos throughout the state of Florida, then galleries in the adjoining hotels.
