Frank Licsko

A professional artist for almost half a century, Frank Licsko’s decision to pursue a career in art differed from his original career path. At first, Licsko was going to become a nuclear physicist, but instead of contributing to a world of war and weaponry, he decided to contribute to love and beauty of this world with his art. He has found inspiration in all manner of things throughout his career, but meeting his wife in 1970 was among the most life-altering. Joanne became his model of choice for decades and was a large part of his developing artistic style.

Today, Licsko paints with oil or acrylic on canvas in a variety of beautiful styles, combining the abstract, the surreal, and the figurative. He is best known for his realist landscapes, which he often manipulates with a surreal touch, bending, twisting, and layering the scene, creating what he calls his “Etherealism” paintings. Licsko attempts to mirror God’s creations, to channel the beautiful light of sweeping skies and luxurious landscapes or, in his figurative words, to mirror the human soul and emotions. His expressive and impressive original paintings and limited edition fine art prints can be found in numerous galleries and private and corporate collections around the world, including those of the Emperor of Japan, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Technicolor, and Tehama, Clint Eastwood’s luxury estate development company.
