Dmitri Shmarin was born in Moscow. He is a famous Russian painter known as one of the outstanding students of the people's Artists of the USSR of Tkachev brothers. In 1993 he graduated from MGHI. He has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since.

Being a true patriot, Dmitri's works often focus on Russian history, using the theme of the Civil war and White Russian.

In 1996, 1999, 1998, 2004 and 2005 the personal exhibition of Dmitry Shmarin were held in Moscow.
