Barbara Mock

A quintessential American Impressionist, Barbara Mock was born and raised in Guthrie Oklahoma, and married fresh out of high school, moved to various spots around the Southeast with her growing family, including Dallas, Texas, Coral Springs, Florida and eventually Georgia.

Each location was a source of valuable art education as well, and Mock was fortunate to study with a host of well-known artists like Richard Goetz, JoAnn McCrary, Raymon Froman, Bud Biggs, and Naomi Brotherton. Mock became a bona fide artist in her own right, exhibiting and teaching all around the US.

Before she even started traveling the US, Mock's art interest began in grade school where she was actively involved in all art activities in her home town. Her distinctive style surely has its roots in her earliest art experiences. Indeed, Mock is well known for her stunning floral imagery. “I look at the world a little differently than most people," she explains. "I have to study each new blossom and leaf, I really do take the time to smell the flowers. Each new painting is a challenge and a growing experience. I am so happy to be able to share my art with so many people.”
