Alan Murray has displayed artistic aptitude since he was a young boy growing up in Canada. When he was 13, Murray’s family moved to California, where he was able to start seriously studying art at the Amsel Art School. Following high school, Murray attended Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California. Murray’s art has been exhibited in many galleries and shows, Merrill Chase Galleries in Chicago, Suttons Galleries in New Orleans, and Pace Galleries in Houston.

Murray tries to capture simple beauty and elegance, such as the fleeting expression on a subject’s face or a tantalizing pose. Murray says, “I usually try to paint a feeling of calmness, which we do not have a lot of in this world.”
