Wegner was born in Germany in the late nineteen twenties, and it was from his Father that he received his initial artistic instruction, after which point he joined with a few of his contemporaries to form an artist’s studio. While each participant in the studio shared a love of the classical Germanic landscape, Wegner’s specialty lay in his representation of the decidedly “alpine landscape.”
