Toni Goffe

Toni Goffe is a man of many talents. Though Goffe studied painting and illustration at Southampton College of Art in Hampshire and earned a National Diploma in Design, he played the double bass professionally in renowned London jazz bands. Goffe concurrently worked as an artist on a freelance basis, illustrating many children’s books, even earning the Gold Medallion Book Award in 1993 for his work in the book “Just in Case You Ever Wonder”. While in England, Goffe and his wife Jill founded The Pendulum Gallery, which specialized in history subjects and modern paintings. Goffe temporarily relocated to Boston in 1982 to direct The John Stobart Gallery, where he was able to study with the renowned oil painter John Stobart. When he returned to England in 1985, Goffe became well known for his landscapes and seascapes, and held many one-man exhibitions at his local gallery, The Allen Gallery. In 1999, Goffe joined the Halcyon Gallery and Washington Green, where he has had many originals produced as lithographs of his pet cats Mungo and Mingus.
