Robert Frame

Robert Frame (1924-1999) was a consistent, prodigious and scholarly painter who held several successful one-man shows and museum exhibitions yearly starting in 1951. Widely known and collected, Frame was recognized by both artists and collectors as a Painters Painter.

From 1948 to 1965, Frame won 22 prizes in painting in national exhibitions as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship in Creative painting. He was also represented in numerous National Exhibitions of American Painting as well as many publications on art.

Frame was also a respected professor in fine arts, and was influential in institutions such as Otis Art Institute and the University of Southern California. His paintings are a celebration of sumptuous color and his subjects are saturated with light and color.
