Rafal Olbinski

After immigrating to the United States from Poland in 1981, Rafal Olbinski quickly established himself as a prominent artist. Proficient as a painter, illustrator, and designer, Olbinski’s works focus on lyrical surrealism and metaphorical structure. Most aptly, Andre Parinaud describes Olbinski’s work: “Poetic humor is a quality rarely found in the fine arts. Rafal Olbinski has this gift. He wants to show us that our imagination is a magical world which we are recreating forever. He draws us into a different universe, and forces us to use our eyes to participate in a marvelous world which is the true dimension of dreams.”

Over the decades, Olbinski has won numerous awards for his work, including gold and silver medals from the Art Directors Club of New York and Gold and Silver Medals from the Society of Illustrators in New York and Los Angeles. In 1995, his poster was chosen as the official New York City Capital of the World Poster. Having had exhibited his works around the world, Olbinski’s pieces can now be found in many public and private collections, including the National Arts Club in New York, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Library of Congress.
