Born in Baldwin, Long Island in 1935, Helen Rundell is now famous for her beautifully serene nature scenes that are reminiscent of the work of Andrew Wyeth and bring to mind the prose of Henry David Thoreau. Her paintings often incorporate barns, beaches, fields, and farms, but nature is always at the forefront. When speaking of her inspiration, Rundell says, “Nature is a very personal experience that I live by every day of my life. I could not paint fields and trees and grass and sand if I did not live with them and know the way they are year-round and in every kind of weather.” This devotion does not go unnoticed by collectors; Rundell’s paintings can be found in collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.
