Born 1960, David Holzman grew up in Los Angles California and never had any formal art classes or training. In 1977, Holzman's published his first photograph taken at a Peter Gabriel concert, which was shot at the Roxy in Hollywood. Over the next few years, Holzman shot over 100 concerts by sneaking his camera into shows. In 1983 he received a degree in photojournalism from LA Valley college, before working at the L.A. Times as a staff photographer.

Over the next half decade, Holzman became well known as a rock, lifestyle, action, and fashion show photographer. Published in Mix Magazine, Cream, Fine Magazine, LA Magazine, LA Weekly, Action Now, Motocross Action, Surfer and Surfing magazine. By 1990 Holzman started doing posters and limited edition photographs which have sold in over 300 galleries worldwide.

For the last 30 years Holzman has been creating abstract paintings which have sold to private collectors in the United States, Canada and Europe.
