Born and raised in Rome, Italy, architectural photographer Claudio Santini developed his artistic aesthetic from the historical city of his youth. Inspired by the juxtaposition of Rome's ancient and contemporary elements, Santini was drawn to photography at a young age and eventually merged this interest with architecture while studying at the Architectural University and the Instituto Europeo di Design in Rome.

Working professionally as an architectural photographer since finishing his studies, Santini's work mainly focuses on the representation of a particular aspect of urban life -- a street, different typologies of dwellings or the symbols of ornament/decor that have been created through the different eras. He investigates his subject matter through a meditative approach, and reduces form and color into a a figurative minimalism.

Santini's photographs have been featured in many International publications and books, such as The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and many others. Santini currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
