Mohler was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1947. He majored in music at Berkley and often did portraits as a way of making extra income. In the mid sixties he was discovered by a family from England and shortly thereafter was commissioned to do royal portraits. Mohler has been commissioned to paint many esteemed members of society and entertainment including Liberace. He also enjoys painting children and once said “Capturing children at play or going into their world of make believe is my gift”
