Mike Wells was born 1952 in North Wales studying at Liverpool and Chelsea Art Schools. Wells completed his post graduate work at the prestigious Royal College of Art, London and since 1981 Wells worked mainly as an etcher preferring the stringent disciplines imposed on the artist, finding this technique gives a tighter and more luminous quality to the finished work. London Contemporary Art first published his work in 1982 establishing himself as a proficient printer and artist.
