Born in 1957 in Donetsk, Ukraine, artist Maya Green immigrated to Israel in 1996 to pursue her passion for art. In fact, the subject of many of Green's paintings are the scenes from the Galilee region.

Green is best known for her stunning palette knife technique. When speaking of her process, Green states, "In my work, I seek to complement the moments I encounter. I attempt breaking down life to its visual essentials - light, dark, balance, movement, tone. In so doing perhaps I can reveal a new perspective."
