Jay Johnson

Wildlife artist Jay Johnson’s love of the outdoors was established in his youth, which he spent backpacking and camping. He spent 16 months hiking, boating, and bicycling 10,000 miles across America, walking the Appalachian Trail, rowing across the Gulf of Mexico, and walking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. Needless to say, all of this has provided ample inspiration for his breathtaking wildlife art, which has appeared in exhibitions in Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. His artwork also appears in the collections of Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum and the Bennington Center for the Arts and has been featured in “Wildlife Art” and “American Artist” magazines.
