Jim Dietz graduated from Art Center College of Design. Afterwards he began a career as a commercial illustrator in Los Angeles. While Dietz favors aviation as his subject matter, for him the human element and the interaction with the aircraft is what he enjoys including in his works most. “it is the people who make aircraft great, by design, by flying and by dedication.” Jim has been awarded numerous medals from the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators and has won Best of Show two years in a row. In addition to participation in the U.S.A.F. and U.S.N. aviation art programs, his exhibits of his original works have been held at EAA Museum and the San Diego Air Museum.
