Frank Jensen

Born in 1956 in Denmark, Frank Jensen developed a love for art at an early age. His father, a violinist and painter, taught him the basics of painting, which prompted Jensen to study art more extensively in Copenhagen, where he painted mostly figurative works. After he completed his studies, Jensen began a successful career as an illustrator. In 1991, Jensen settled in Barcelona where he created illustrations for newspapers, magazines, and books. Eventually, Jensen’s art veered away from the figurative to the more abstract. The inspiration for Jensen’s paintings range from landscapes to poems to the day-to-day hustle and bustle of his Barcelona home, and he tries to express this narrative through an abstract language of color and shape.

Since 1990, Jensen has participated in art fairs and several one-man exhibitions throughout Spain and the rest of Europe. Still residing in beautiful Barcelona, Jensen tries to paint every day, often in the company of Pepe, his faithful Siamese cat.
