Elaine Jones’s simple, abstract paintings aim to capture the diversity of the Arctic, where she recently traveled. Inspired by the “intensity of light, atmosphere, and serenity represented in this unique environment”, Jones hopes to capture this diverse terrain through simple geometric shapes and splashes of color. The focus of Jones’s painting will soon shift, however, in order to capture the majesty of the rainforests of Costa Rica and Panama, where she will soon travel.

Jones received her artistic training at Newcastle Under Lyme College before receiving a degree in painting from the Loughborough University. While a student, Jones won a fine art award and studied painting in Granada University in Spain for six months. Currently, her travel-inspired work is exhibited across the United States and United Kingdom.
