Donald Grant

Born in North Shields, Northumberland in 1930, Donald Grant displayed an artistic aptitude from an early age. He even sold his first painting to his family doctor at age nine. Despite this, Grant had a very eclectic career; he worked as a shipbuilder, a graphic designer and artist, as well as served in the army.

Primarily known for his wildlife scenes, Grant is revered for his attention to detail. His paintings have been internationally exhibited since 1970. With his favorite subjects being the great animals of Africa, Grant says "Here in this magnificent setting, which we should all do our utmost to protect, the finely balanced day-to-day drama of survival unfolds."
